Master is all action at Punchestown
Action Master bounced back from a disappointing effort over the course and distance a month ago when he landed the Irish Racing Yearbook 3-y-o Hurdle by eight lengths under Roger Loughran.
Backed at 20/1 this morning and returned at half those odds, the Galway-owned (All Gone West Syndicate) gelding led before the last and stayed on well to account for Southampton Those at the top of the market, Chebona Bula (pulled up), Gimli's Rock (forty lengths in front of Action Master last time, could only manage fourth) whilst Golan Go the favourite, finished fifth.
Winning trainer, Dessie Hughes said: "He was unfortunate a couple of times and that was more like it today. He was dead in himself the last day and perhaps I ran him too quickly (a week after his previous run). He was good on that ground today and he's a nice juvenile. He was bought at the Goffs Millions Sale as a yearling."
