Maskoon got off the mark for his new trainer David Marnane at Dundalk this evening, landing the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium Handicap having been well supported.
The ex-Kevin Prendergast trained gelding, a maiden winner in 2014, was bought in July for 30,000gns and having his fourth start for Marnane today, was backed from 8/1 in to 9/2SP.
Ridden by Connor King, Maskoon battled well for a neck win over Manorov and afterwards Marnane stated "we bought him at the Horses In Training Sale, and he's owned by a good friend Joe Curran from Bansha who now lives in London.
"He probably wants a bit further, and we changed tactics tonight and held onto him more. With that win under his belt, hopefully he'll go the right way and he'll come back here."
