Noble Emperor was left to run out a facile winner of the beginners chase at Fairyhouse after Moonshine Lad pulled up quickly before the third last.
That rival had cut out the early running before Noble Emperor took over going to halfway.
Moonshine Lad moved up to challenge again four from home but pulled up quickly before the next having appeared to lose his action.
1/2 favourite Noble Emperor was left clear of his other three rivals and popped the last two to record a comprehensive 22-length victory.
Tony Martin's charge was going one better at the track having chased home Val De Ferbet here last month.
Martin was recording a quick double following Mydor s win in the previous race and he said afterwards:-
"He showed that he's a nice type of horse last year when winning his bumper and hurdle.
"Hopefully he's a nice prospect. He's a big frame of a horse and he has the strength to get through that ground. He also has the size to jump.
'He's still only a baby and that was only his fifth race. We've a lot to learn about him yet. I'd say we'll tread carefully with him for the moment.
"You'd like to think jumping and staying will be his strength."
