For the second race in a row at Dundalk there was drama as a jockey got a nasty looking fall, this time Kevin Manning coming off Something Graceful in the mile-and-a-half handicap.
The race was won by Raydari who chased down Paddy The Celeb inside the final furlong for a half length success.
The later was at the centre of the drama over a furlong out as he appeared to squeeze up Something Graceful, who stumbled and unshipped Manning.
Thankfully Manning got up after a few minutes and despite being winded and feeling sore was okay after the tumble.
The winner had been in great form at the end of last year here and seems to have benefitted from his return run last month.
“He's come back well after his break and Sam (James) gets on well with him,” said winning trainer Roger Sweeney.
“He likes Dundalk and hopefully we can find something suitable here for him again.”
The windy conditions are reportedly making it hard to keep horses straight and Declan McDonogh commented afterwards: “It's very hard riding into the wind in the straight.”
