Galway festival winner Majestic Maid got off the mark over jumps at Cork today as the mare landed the Paddy Power Onside App (Mares) Maiden Hurdle for brothers trainer Michael Kennedy and jockey Paddy Kennedy.
The daughter of Shirocco won a 2019 Galway festival bumper and today readily justified strong 10/11 favouritism when beating Ciao Bella easily by six lengths.
Innishannon, Co Cork based Michael Kennedy, a brother of jockeys Paddy and Jack Kennedy, later commented “she has very good form and we always thought a lot of her so would have been disappointed if she didn't do that today.
“That (2m4f) is as far as she wants on that type of ground but she'll be fine over it on better ground.
“We'll keep her going during the winter and she'll go for a Rated Hurdle next.
“I have 25 horses in training at the moment.”
