Madden Doubles-Up Again
He may have caused a surprise in the North three weeks back when scoring as a 16/1 shot but Banna Beach was 'expected' this time and the 100/30 market-leader did the business by three and a half lengths to credit Niall 'Slippers' Madden with an over 15/1 brace (earlier successful on Thelobstercatcher in the Ballinattin Handicap Chase.
Banna Beach scored at the first time of asking in a point-to-point at Bennettsbridge in February 2007 but it took him eighteen efforts to get off the mark on the racecourse proper and he followed up here with a good success.
Successful Wexford trainer, Seamus Neville said: "He'll stay handicapping and it'll be one step at a time. The Galway Blazers on the Saturday of the Festival would be in my mind though."
Madden of course also had a double at Punchestown on Wednesday.
