Sweetest Taboo gave 10lb-claimer Cian MacRedmond his third career victory when taking the five furlong handicap in Bellewstown.
He delivered his mount between horses to pick off Nora Batt in the final 100 yards.
He then kept the seven-year-old mare up to her work to score by half a length at 9/1 as the closers flashed home in behind. Guiding Star got up for second at 40/1 from 4/1 favourite Nora Batt.
Trainer Willie McCreery said: “She was unlucky with Peter Kavanagh last week. I tossed to see who would ride her today and Cian won the toss. Lucky for him and unlucky for Peter.
“He gave her a lovely ride as the last few times she has just been going a bit too quick and I said 'just hold her up today and let her enjoy herself'. He did and got a lovely clear passage.
“She’s for claimers to ride in the yard. Cian’s first ride was a winner on her at the Curragh and his 10lb claim is gone now as that’s his third winner.
“She’s very safe for those lads. She’s solid and will hold her own. If someone bumps off her she’ll hold her own and it gives young lads confidence.”
