Running over six furlongs for just the second time in her life, and fitted with blinkers for the initial occasion, Bairns At Bay got off the mark at the ninth attempt, when successful in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Maiden at Dundalk.

Colin Keane donned the Anamoine silks on the 11/8 favourite, and the Big Bad Bob filly came out on top by two lengths from Stamp Of Authority

Soon in front the 'jolly' proved stronger than the runner-up over the final quarter mile.

"She deserved that. Her form was good up to her last couple of runs and the blinkers did the trick," said Shane Lyons, representing his brother, winning trainer Ger.

"She has plenty of speed so the six furlongs was ideal. She'll have a rest now. It was important for her breeding to get the brackets and we'll see what the owners want to do now."
