Lynch continues his roll with Gowran present
Hidden Present was another winner for Andrew Lynch in his week of a lifetime when the 20/1 chance proved up to the task in a stamina-sapping Paulstown Handicap Chase.
Barney Jones trains the son of Presenting near Downpatrick, in Saintfield County Down and he also handled the eight-year-old to win a point-to-point at Loughanmore in November 2008. Chapeltown in the late 1990s may have been his last winner on the racecourse proper.
Hidden Present was always on the pace and he eventually saw off Buen Camino by five and a half lengths.
Jones commented: "He is a brilliant jumper but he seems to panic when other horses get around him. The cheek-pieces probably helped him too. I don't train as many horses myself as I used to."
Of course Andrew Lynch had a couple of winners at Cheltenham this week - Sizing Europe and Berties Dream.
