Lynam gets a deserved win
Fourth in the corresponding event twelve months ago, Westtower Boy put the record straight in good style in the concluding Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Package Maiden at Dundalk.
Billy Lee exuded confidence on the Hawk Wing four-year-old and he chased down the favourite Louisville Lip inside the final quarter mile. He led under a furlong out and went on to score by an easy length and three quarters.
Winning trainer Eddie Lynam said: "He didn't get the trip here last year but he was only a baby then. I thought if he stayed tonight that he'd win. It's nice to get it as we hit the bar a couple of times tonight and I thought Sparring Partner should have got the race in the steward's room here last week."
