Wayne Lordan again timed things to perfection at Leopardstown when successful aboard Magwadiri in the Stunning Handicap, in the process completing a 194/1 double on the evening.
The classic winning rider earlier got 14/1 newcomer Delano Roosevelt up close home in the mile maiden, and he repeated the trick here as the Paul Deegan-trained gelding also struck the front virtually on the line. Cloudy Miss was the one collared at the post this time, with 6/1 favourite Nimitz holding every two and a half lengths adrift in third and Milish another two lengths back in fourth.
Deegan said, “He’s run a couple of very good races doing that, and when we have tried to be a bit more forceful with him it just hasn’t suited him. He likes it when he’s dropped in and given a chance and they go quick.
“It was a brilliant ride. He will probably go to Galway if he gets in.”
