Nottinghamshire trainer Ivan Furtado bagged a winner with his first runner in Ireland today as Loose Chippings landed the Gilna's Cottage Inn Pride Of Place Maiden on the beach at Laytown.
Ridden by stable apprentice Gabriele Malune, 53 rated Loose Chippings carried form-figures of '22272302' into today's race, ranging from distances over a mile up to 1m6f. However the son of Rock Of Gibraltar today seemed to benefit from dropping to seven furlongs as he eventually beat Perfect Beauty by half a length.
Winning trainer Furtado, who wasn't present, is in his fifth year training horses and currently has 18 winners trained in Britain this year while Malune has ridden 10 winners in the same time.
