The loose Blaze Of Fire leads Vapiano (right) and eventual winner Lookoutnow over the last

Those that hammered Lookoutnow from 10/11 this morning into a returned 8/13 owe Blaze Of Fire (departed at the first) a packet of polo-mints as that one had a little say in the destination of Get Ready For Christmas Beginners Chase at Downpatrick. Vapiano came up travelling well to tackle Lookoutnow from before two out and he was on terms looking a likely winner when the loose Blaze Of Fire (his rider Paul Carberry has been stood down for the day but he's okay) got in his way from the back of the last.
Mickey Butler drove out Lookoutnow on the run-in to account for the possibly unfortunate Vapiano by a length and a half.
Winning owner, Damien Carroll from Templeogue in Dublin, said of the Eoin Doyle-trained victor: "We were confident coming up today when we saw the field. Coming over the last though we thought he was in trouble.
"He loves the ground and he'll get two miles six. There's plenty in him, we'll go for bigger races and keep him busy." (MG & EM)
