Crosshue Boy capped a profitable nine day spell when taking the honours in the Barry Ennis Memorial Novice Handicap Chase at Wexford.
J J Slevin was in the plate when the Brian Boru gelding scored at Leopardstown last Friday week, but it was Harley Dunne up top this time with his 5Ib claim.
That allowance helped as Crosshue Boy had to shoulder top-weight, though as it turned out Sean Doyle's eight-year-old proved much the best.
Dunne could afford to let his mount coast up the run-in and still have two and three parts of a length and a length in hand over Consharon Boy and Getoutwhenyoucan
"He is a right, tough, auld horse," commented Dunne in the aftermath.
"He was wrong all winter, he just wasn't himself.
"He seems to be like that, and he comes back to himself in the summer.
"He was the same this time last year, and won this day last year.
"He could run in the north on Monday, we'll see how he comes out of this."
D.N. Russell, rider of Soul Kaliber trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount tired quickly and pulled up thereafter.
