Livelovelaugh put in a fine round of jumping to make all in the McCarthy Insurance Group Beginners Chase at Cork.
The point-to-point winner made a promising return when third to The Storyteller at Fairyhouse last month, and early morning quotes of 5/4 were made to look very attractive as he was sent off the hot 4/7 favourite.
Paul Townend ’s mount kept on strongly in the straight to beat Drumconnor Lad by three lengths, with Burgas 18 lengths further adrift in third.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins said, "He loves jumping and his style of jumping suggests he will be a better chaser, we hope. He loves jumping and galloping and I wouldn't be afraid to go up in trip with him either.
"That ground is very testing and we'll be looking at the staying division. He'll have to go for a Graded race next and give him a shot at a higher grade."
