The market said it would be her day and so it proved for Joseph O'Brien's Little Light in the Duke And Duchess Of Cornwall Mares Maiden Hurdle at Sligo.
An expensive recruit from the point-to-point fields, this time the successful daughter of Walk In The Park was backed from 13/8 into 11/8 favouritism.
J J Slevin got her home by three lengths from Beat Of The Sea That one had been second at Kilbeggan on Friday evening as well. My Midnight was eye-catching in third, three and a quarter lengths back.
“She looks a chaser really. She jumps well, enjoyed that bit of ground and she deserved that," said Slevin.
“She’s a big, striding mare and you wouldn’t mind belting on over fences with her straight away.”
The Stewards fined J.T.R.Dreaper, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Topographical, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Topographical in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
Under the provisions of Rule 90, the Stewards allowed Little Lady Lu trained by J.A. Nash, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the error identified in the certification of vaccinations would be corrected in accordance with Rule 91 within the timeframe specified.
J.W. Kennedy, rider of Jeremys Dream trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount finished lame.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Jeremys Dream trained by Gordon Elliott was found to be lame on its left foreleg post race.
