Colin Keane rode his third runner-up of the night to go with a third and fourth placing when Ned's Indian (well-backed 6/4 favourite) went down by half a length to Little Arrows (easy-to-back at 12/1) in the Floodlit Friday Nights Rated Race at Dundalk.
Nobody has ever doubted Billy Lee 's coolness in the plate and he had the nerve to switch Little Arrows to the outer at the furlong pole. He had a willing partner with the Danehill Dancer seven-year-old quickening up well to outpoint Ned's Indian.
There's hardly a horse in training that deserved a win more than Little Arrows as he was gaining his first success here since July 2012 to put him on career victory number six. He also has a huge amount of placings to his name.
Lee said of Ken and Pauline Condon's seven-year-old: "He's a consistent horse but he's a bit of a character. The few runs over hurdles may have sweetened him up."
C.P. Hoban, rider of Gun Shoot trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount raced freely and hung badly.
