Gordon Elliott admitted that he's going all out in a search for prize-money after turning Fridaynightlights out quickly to double up at Kilbeggan this evening.
With the trainer's title set to be decided at Punchestown next week the Cullentra handler is leaving no stone unturned in his bid for the prize.
He was made to sweat a bit with 11/8 favourite Fridaynightlighths, who took time to find his feet on the undulating track in the Summer Party Pack Handicap Hurdle.
Anthony Fox was rowing along on his mount after the second last but he started to motor on the long run to the last and was in front approaching the final flight.
The Beneficial gelding kept on well in the closing stages to record a two-and-a-quarter length success, following up on his win at Fairyhouse on Sunday.
“He won well in Fairyhouse the other day but I'd say the track didn't suit him great today,” said Elliott.
“I had it in my head after he won that he might go to Punchestown but when I looked at the race he won't get into it so I decided to declare him here.
“He might go to Punchestown now for the Opportunity Hurdle. Anthony gave him a good ride.
“I'd say the better track will suit him better. He was a little bit on the back-foot the whole way but this place is a bit like that.
“Fair play to the owners for letting me run. I probably should have left him but we're under pressure with the prize-money.”
