Liberty To Rock got motoring inside the final furlong to land the spoils in the mile handicap at Bellewstown.
Jim Gorman 's charge looked under pressure two furlongs out after racing mid-division in the 47-65 contest.
He kept at it well, under Ronan Whelan, though and got to the front inside the final 150 yards.
The 8/1 shot went on to score by a length-and-three-quarters from Kalacan Fit The Cove was sent off 9/2 favourite after getting in as second reserve but cried enough over a furlong out and could only finish fifth.
"Ronan said he was going nowhere down the back straight but the minute he got better ground wide in the home straight he flew home," said Gorman.
"He's a good ground horse and it was good to yielding here yesterday so what can you do. He'll go back to Dundalk."
It was the winning rider's first time visiting the Meath track.
