Another photograph was required to determine the outcome of the fillies' and mares' maiden at Gowran Park and it was Letiza who edged it from Lady Meis
Letiza was sent after Lady Meis a furlong and a half down by Ben Coen and began to reel her in racing into the final furlong.
Things got desperate for Lady Meis in the closing stages as Letiza strongly challenged her and the latter got the verdict by a short-head.
Trainer Johnny Feane said: “She’s been running well and I thought she might win tonight. I just think she pulled up a bit when she got there, but she won which is the main thing.
“She’s not a bad filly, but a pair of cheekpieces might help.”
Letiza had been placed in four of her previous five outings in maiden company. She also contested the Ulster Derby at Down Royal in which she finished eighth of the nine runners.
