Lennon saddles one-two in opener
Wee Sonny proved a game winner of the opening maiden hurdle at Down Royal for Newry trainer Liam Lennon.
Mark Bolger sent his mount up to challenge three from home and he fought it out with long-time leader Fearless Warrior from before the next.
He got the better of that charge on the run-in and it was stable-mate Martha Elizabeth who finished well to grab second on the line.
"Colin McBratney bought him for me at Doncaster's horses in training sale," said Lennon.
"We'll look for a wee handicap in England for him. He likes the good ground."
