The Noel Meade trained Le Martalin got off the mark at the fifth attempt over fences at Killarney today as the Gigginstown House Stud owned gelding landed the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase under jockey Sean Flanagan.
The French bred son of Martaline was today winning his first race since his maiden hurdle success in October 2016 and moved to the front before the final fence before eventually scoring a six lengths win over Gigginstown's other runner Hardback
Meade wasn't present and afterwards jockey Flanagan stated “he has loads of experience and the bit of experience helped. He is just starting to learn to settle and did that well.”
