'Lazy' Beach takes flight in cheek-pieces
Venice Beach and Donnacha O'Brien race away from the Tipperary opposition

There was a second Ballydoyle winner in as many races at 'the junction' this evening when even money favourite Venice Beach came home stylishly in front in the Fundraising Events At Tipperary Races Maiden.
Equipped with first-time cheek-pieces the victorious Galileo colt scored on outing number three as he led a furlong and a half out before keeping on strongly to comfortably account for Clongowes by five and a half lengths.
Seamie Heffernan was on the Aidan O'Brien-trained winner half-an-hour earlier, Alluringly but it was Donnacha O'Brien that took the reins on Venice Beach.
"He's a lovely horse and he liked going the mile and a half, even though at Leopardstown (previously) Seamus (Heffernan, jockey) thought he tired on his first run back, rather than the trip (being unsuitable)," explained Aidan O'Brien.
"Obviously he stays very well and is lazy - that's why he wears the cheek-pieces. He's a nice middle distance horse, will progress with racing, and will go for one of the Derby Trials next."
