Laoch Na Mi will continue his racing career in Hong Kong after he got off the mark the Bulmers Live At Leopardstown Maiden.
A good second to Radar O’Reilly on his debut at the Curragh in June, the Jim Bolger trained son of Teofilo was available at 11/8 last night.
He opened on-course at 6/4, and touched 13/8, before going off the clear 5/4 favourite.
Prominent early, he was eventually settled in second by Kevin Manning. He was pushed along from three furlongs out, and hit the front at the two furlong pole, keeping on well under pressure from there, going on to score by two and three parts of a length.
Newcomer Tree Of Knowledge (7/2) finished second under Donnacha O'Brien for his father Aidan, while front runner Nelson Road was a further length back in third.
Jim Bolger said afterwards: "His owners (the Military Syndicate) bought him after the Curragh run and he'll go to Hong Kong now. He should do well out there."
