Trainer James Lambe and jockey Brian Hughes combined for a double at Downpatrick today when Kingsmoss 'got up' in the last stride to deny 11/10 favourite Drumlister by the new narrowest of margins in the Win an iPad Handicap Steeplechase .
Drumlister looked set for a 'made all' success but Kingsmoss ate into the leader's lead on the run-in to eventually edge his nose in front at the line.
Afterwards Lambe stated “I thought that, maybe on his first run back after a break, he wasn't full ready but Brian gave him a super ride and he'll improve for it.”
The pair had earlier opened their account in similarly dramatic late fashion with Daytime Dreamer in the opener.
