Knight Eagle swoops under Sam James
Kevin Prendergast's apprentice Sam James rode a finely judged race on Knight Eagle for his boss to land the one mile six furlong handicap. The seven pound claimer watched Solo Performer kick for home three furlongs out but produced his three-year-old gelding at the furlong marker to win going away by a length and three quarters at rewarding odds of 14/1.
Solo Performer battled on for second place once his winning opportunity had fizzled out. Back in third was John Oxx's Emrani who saw office support this morning. Favourite Cyborg was a one-paced fourth at 3/1.
