After his win over hurdles aboard Macgiloney at Listowel on Wednesday, Daniel King made his only ride of the night count at Dundalk when landing the apprentice handicap on Rocky Dreams
The 16/5 chance had plenty to do over a furlong out but was able to take the gaps when they appeared and finished strongly to beat Dandyville and Scarlet Dancer by half a length and a neck.
It was a fifth win at the venue for Denis Hogan's five-year-old whose previous wins here had come in claimers. Hogan was completing a quick double after Tawazon in this evening's claimer.
King, who has picked up the ride on Paddy Twomey's Earl Of Tyrone in Sunday's lucrative Irish Cesarewitch, said: "That's what he likes, coming between horses. Monday (third at Fairyhouse) hadn't taken much out of him.
"I've won four times on him and it is great to have a horse like that when you are starting out.
"I plan to keep mixing (Flat and jumps) it as my weight is fine."
