The John Hayes trained Kilmurry Kid gained a third chase win at Tramore today, landing the Waterford & Tramore Racecourse Supporters Club Handicap Chase under jockey Ian McCarthy.
The 11 year old gelding was the fourth winner of the afternoon to make all the running and the third chase winner to do so, flashing his tail under pressure from the second last but staying on well for a two and a half lengths win over Vicalus
Afterwards Hayes stated “everything went right for him today and he jumped lovely.
“I was scratching my head last week after he ran so bad but the rain during the week helped him. I'm glad he ran to his ability and I've no plan for him but he likes a bit of juice in the ground. We'll go home now and look at the calendar."
The winner had previously won four point-to-points before winning his third handicap chase today.
