The Willie McCreery trained Kick On Boss ridden by Andrew Lynch, booted his opponents aside when making all to win the I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle at Naas today.
The son of Rudimentary was well clear from halfway and while tiring in the closing stages, held a 12 lengths lead over Zip Wyatt at the line.
Afterwards McCreery, who enjoyed an excellent year in 2013, stated “he's a big honest horse and he needs a galloping track. I'm delighted for the owners (father and son Mark Travers senior and junior) as he was so big when he was young they were unable to sell him!
“I've always thought about chasing for him as he has no respect for his hurdles but we'll probably find a two and a half miles novice hurdle for him next and take it from there.”
