Keppols Queen upset the odds when making all under Robbie Power to land the Kerry Group EBF Shannon Spray Mares Novice Hurdle at Limerick. Lyrical Theatre was sent off the 1/3 favourite in this Grade 3 event but those who supported the hot-pot knew she was in trouble as Ruby Walsh sent out distress signals approaching the straight.
Meanwhile the front-running Keppols Queen was making the best of her way home in this two miles event, and the Jessica Harrington-trained 6/1 chance kept on strongly from before the last to score by five and a half lengths.
Lyrical Theatre took the runner-up spot half a length ahead of Dalmatia
Power said, "The drop back to two miles was not ideal and I wanted to make it a test of stamina. She jumped super and is improving all year. She needs soft ground."
