Kaiser So Say shows some promise
Andrew Heffernan's Kaiser So Say proved a good winner of the maiden hurdle at Downpatrick at 16/1 in the hands of Andrew Thornton.
Thornton came with a well-judged ride to pick off favourite Golan Guy at the last hurdle and powered up the hill for an eleven length success.
Heffernan was pleasantly surprised with the win as he has only had the gelding for four weeks. He said: "We are just getting to know him. He was with Michael Halford before.
"He showed a bit on the gallops last week but it the win was a surprise today."
The success was Heffernan's fourth win of the campaign. He trains Kaiser So Say for his son Bernard Heffernan.
