Nine year old Jumbo Steps (20/1) recorded his first win for almost three years when landing the Arken Construction Supporting Sligo GAA Handicap at Sligo today, scoring for trainer Johnny Levins and jockey Leigh Roche.
The son of Footstepsinthesand went clear of his rivals early in the home straight and in the end stayed on well for a two and a half lengths win over Chips Are Down
Afterwards Levins stated “he has a new job at home now leading the two-year-olds and sprinters.
“He's a very good work horse. He's been in good form and was off a good mark so we said we'd pop him out every so often and hopefully he would pay his way.
“He showed a good attitude there and he still retains plenty of ability, albeit off a low mark.
“We'll continue on this path; he can get sour at home so we'll pop him out to keep him interested and if he does things like that you might see him more often.”
Jumbo Steps’ previous win was gained at Gowran in July 2013.
