Jumbo completes O'Grady double
Edward O’Grady completed an across-the-card double at Punchestown today when his Jumbo Rio landed the Follow Punchestown Facebook Hurdle, under Jockeys’ Championship Leader Andrew McNamara.
The heavily backed 13/8 favourite did benefit from second favourite Secant Star pulling up injured at halfway but Jumbo Rio did see off the challenge of staying on On The Way Out in the closing stages.
Afterwards O’Grady, earlier successful with Goban Saor at Tramore, stated “he’ll run in the Galmoy Hurdle next but will avoid Cheltenham as he prefers a flat track. I might send him back to France later in the season too.”
