Judge brings up O'Grady treble
Patrick 'Monty' Mangan (19) rode his second winner as a professional and brought up an across the card treble for Edward O'Grady when he got the previously frustrating Judge Roy Bean to put his best foot forward on his handicap bow in the Sanserv Handicap Hurdle.
O'Grady sent out Slieveardagh and Killenaule Boy to score at Wexford and the combined odds of the trio for supporters of the Ballynonty yard came to a whopping 2,361 and a half to one.
Judge Roy Bean, winner of a Punchestown bumper on his debut in February 2007, but without success since, tracked the leader, On Your Way into the straight, he responded once shaken up on the run-in and he did what was required to go on and prevail by two and a half lengths. Conclave the strongly-supported favourite for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh, was beaten from after three out and ended up finishing eighth.
