The Harry Kelly trained Padraig's Joy gained a first win in the Corkracecourse.ie Mares Maiden Hurdle at Cork today, winning under jockey Sean Flanagan.
The winner carries the colours of the Cashel based Brandy & Baileys Syndicate and afterwards Kelly stated “one of the syndicate is John Palmer my local bank manager which is a help!”
He added “she's a grand little mare but was a bit tricky last year but patience has worked. She doesn't seem to handle Kilbeggan but every other run she's had she has run well.”
