The Terence O'Brien trained Viaduct Joey came out on the right side of a three way photo-finish in the John Mulholland Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle at Galway today, completing a double on the card for jockey Paul Townend.
Afterwards O'Brien stated “he won this race off 109 two years ago and we were hoping he'd go on to better things but he has had problems with stomach ulcers and hasn't been enjoying his racing since.
“He went 'off' again after he won his handicap chase (last February) but we gave him a good break during the summer and I think his stomach ulcers are under control now. He'll continue to mix it between hurdling and chasing and jumps well.”
