Philip Rothwell, so close to the big prize at Fairyhouse yesterday with Grand National third, Saoirse Dun, maintained the momentum at Ballinrobe this evening. After Catchin Time s second placing earlier, the Wicklow handler saddled a one, two in the Treacy's Pharmacy Handicap Chase.
His market-leader, Cheap As Chips made a bold bid to secure a hat-trick of wins but she ultimately had to yield by four and a half lengths to her Mark Enright-ridden stable companion Imperial Joey
Owned and bred by Ballinrobe man Michael Cawe, this Imperial Ballet gelding was adding to a Downpatrick hurdle win from last September.
He sported cheek-pieces on that occasion but it was blinkers first-time on the nine-year-old this evening.
Imperial Joey landed a bit of a 'punt' too - 16s earlier and 12s into 8s on track. (DM & EM)
