Mick The Jiver bounced back to winning ways when popping up at 14/1 to run out a cosy winner of the three-mile handicap chase at Navan.
The Eoghan O'Grady-trained grey had been well held in two starts this season but travelled well to pick it up at the third last this afternoon.
He asserted going to the last and Philip Enright could afford to let him coast home in the closing stages to record a three-and-a-quarter length win over Wonderoftheworld
Mick The Jiver was recording his first success since scoring over course and distance here in March 2017.
The winning rider said afterwards:- “I can’t praise Eoghan high enough, how good a trainer he is and this lad had a great run of wins a few seasons ago.
“He lost his form a bit and the last day in Punchestown there was a good few fences out due to the sun and he’s such a good jumper it didn’t suit him.
“When you go back to his run in Galway (finished fourth) he was entitled to run well today and he handles heavy ground.
“Three miles around here all he had to do was jump and stay and that’s what he did.”
