The Jessica Harrington trained Jezki made a successful step up from maiden hurdle company to maintain his unbeaten hurdle record in the Grade 3 Fishery Lane Hurdle at Naas today.
Ridden by Barry Geraghty, the son of Milan moved to the front before the final flight and stayed on strongly for a comfortable win over Un Beau Matin
Harrington later stated “Jezki was good – I was worried about the ground as it was heavy but he coped with it well and did it well. His jumping was more professional today and he needed that run.
“It is hard to go to the Royal Bond Hurdle with just one hurdle run but that is his next port of call. I know he was getting loads of weight off Hisaabaat but he still had to do it.”
Stan James subsequently cut Jezki into 14/1 (from 40's) for the Supreme Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
