James at his best aboard Jamaayel
The Kevin Prendergast trained Jamaayel found the ground to her liking in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery Handicap when running out a three and half length winner.
Promising 7lb claimer Sam James sent the daughter of Shamardal to the front inside the final furlong and kept on in good style to beat Blaze Brightly from the Jessie Harrington stable.
A delighted Prendergast said afterwards: “Her dam loved the heavy ground and she seems to like it too. The surface at Dundalk probably didn't suit her."
“She got a great ride and claiming the seven pounds definitely helped.”
