The Ellmarie Holden trained Sir Jack Yeats under jockey Donagh Meyler, justified 15/8 favouritism when landing the Oulart Handicap Hurdle at Wexford today, registering a third career win in the process.
The son of Yeats, in first-time blinkers, stayed on well in the home straight before scoring a six lengths win over Lash It On
Holden’s horses are in fine fettle at present and after the race, the rookie handler said “the blinkers probably helped him to concentrate that bit more and obviously they just worked a bit better than the cheekpieces.
“He won on soft ground at Bellewstown last season and won well that day, so I wasn't too worried coming here today. We have no plan with him, and we'll probably pick out a little race for him in two or three weeks time."
