Political Policy and Jer's Girl have been doing Gavin Cromwell proud in recent times and Elusive Ivy made her contribution for the County Meath handler by landing the Ronan Doyle Happy Birthday Mares Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown under Breen Kane. All Summer Long looked a possible scorer in the straight in this two and a half miler but Elusive Ivy benefited from a patient Kane ride, leading inside the final furlong and staying on well close home to defeat Leaders Questions by three parts of a length.
There was a length and three parts back to the aforementioned All Summer Long in third.
"It will be more of the same with her. I was a bit concerned about staying the two and a half miles but she won a bumper at Thurles on heavy ground," remarked Cromwell.
"Breen rides with a lot of confidence for a lad that doesn't get that many rides."
