A test of stamina on bad ground is what Ishan wants and that's what he got in the Mayson Standing At Springfield House Stud Handicap Hurdle.
Phillip Enright produced Sam Curling's strong stayer to lead at the bypassed second-last flight and the 9/2 co-favourite went away to beat Ballyadam Destiny by a length and a half.
"He loves those conditions and stays really well," said Curling of the Pius Collins-owned winner.
"That’s his second time winning around here too. I’m delighted that he’s been able to handle those couple of jumps up in grade.
“Phillip said it inconvenienced him bypassing the second last. He’s got a good mark over fences so hopefully he’ll be grand going forward. He’s entered at Fairyhouse on New Year’s Day but I doubt he’d go there. He had a hard race today and we’ll mind him — he’s only five going six.”
