Isabel reigns in two miler
Isabellareine (14/1) showed great reserves of stamina under Danny Grant to cut down favourite Total Excitement in the closing stages of the two miles Cheesestrings Handicap.
Bryan Cooper appeared to have made the decisive move when kicking the 6/1 market leader three lengths clear entering the straight.
However he was worn down in the final furlong by Mervyn Torrens charge who eventually prevailed by a length and a quarter, with Forest Minx another half length back in third.
“I was a bit worried about her getting the two miles but she's a tough little filly. I'm not sure where she'll go now but it may be Listowel,” said Torrens afterwards.
