Information back on top
Information bounced back to form to run out a game winner of the first division of the Beamish Raceday Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe. Markey Cee made a bold bid for home going out on the last circuit as Tony Kelly went for a hat-trick but he was picked off by Information turnnig for home.
James Brennan 's charge stuck on well, under Eddie O'Connell, to record a three-length success over Canulos
The winner had attracted some support before racing (12/1 into 8/1) and was eventually sent off a 7/1 shot.
It was a return to form for the Mohaajir gelding who had been in good form over fences in May, with a victory and a couple of placed efforts, before a few disappointing efforts recently.
The reapplication of blinkers was offered as one reason for the improvement:-
"The blinkers seemed to do the trick," said Brennan. "Some tracks he travels on and others he doesn't.
"He probably won't go to Galway as he wouldn't really be a Galway horse."
