The Willie Mullins trained Indevan made all to take the Grade 3 Fergus O’Toole Novice Hurdle under Ruby Walsh.
The five-year-old son of Indesatchel was beaten by Que Pasa at Galway on his last start, but he got back to winning ways this afternoon.
Backed from 11/8 into clear 5/4 favouritism on-course, the Susanna Ricci owned gelding went on at the start when no one else wanted to.
He then made all, and he was pushed along to assert at the second last, with good jumps at the final two flights sealing the deal, as he kept on well on the run-in to score by two and three parts of a length. Lots Of Memories finished back in second at 3/1 under Shane Butler for Paul Fahey, while Little King Robin ran a fine race to take third, a further two and three parts of a length back.
Ruby Walsh said afterwards: "No one wanted to make it, it was just one of those tactical races.
"I didn’t want to make it but he jumped away nicely and he jumped well.
"I couldn’t believe he got beaten at Galway the last day but everything went right for him today. The ground is as quick as he would want it."
Indevan has now won five races in his career from his nine starts, and he has yet to finish out of the first two in the races which he has completed.
