The Ken Condon trained In Salutem claimed his fifth career win, at Navan today, when coming from last to first to readily justify strong market confidence (7/4 this morning into 6/5f) for a second consecutive win in the Come Racing Again Sunday 8th November Handicap.
Ridden by Shane Foley, In Salutem quickened well in the closing stages for a length and a quarter win over Sors
Condon later stated "he's ran well in a lot of the big sprint handicaps this year. Six is his optimum trip and a bit of cut in the ground. Stiff tracks like the Curragh and here suit him.
"He's won off 88 here and next year something like the Ayr Gold Cup could be part of the plan. They should get some cut in the ground then. You have to be rated in the 90's to get into most of those big handicaps.
"He'll be aimed at a lot of the same races he went for this year."
Foley was also in the saddle when In Salutem won the 2014 renewal.
