Call Me Lyreen (4/1) looked very smart on debut in the Doneraile Walk Maiden Hurdle (Div I) at Tramore.
Always taking the eye with the ease of his movement behind the leaders, the Gordon Elliott-trained Call Me Lyreen was going to win barring accidents from two out.
He made a slight mistake at the last under Keith Donoghue before going on to triumph by five lengths from Sani Pass
"He had shown us plenty at home and we thought he was a nice horse,” said Donoghue.
“He hadn't done a whole pile and we knew he'd come on for the run today.
“To do that around Tramore on debut, he has to be a nice horse. He just had a bit of a look at the last. Hopefully he'll be a nice horse for the winter."
