Apprentice jockey Denis Lenihan steered his seventh winner of the year at the Curragh today when guiding the Anothony Mulholland trained Feeling Easy to win the concluding Irish Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap.
Lenihan, who is apprenticed to trainer Johnny Murtagh, was patient on the daughter of Bushranger who raced in the rear of mid-division early on. Lenihan asked Feeling Easy to quicken twofurlong out and the pair made good headway between horses to lead in the closing stages and eventually score a three parts of a length win over Mzuri
Feeling Easy was having her second start for Co Cavan based trainer Mulholland, having won three of her opening five two year old races in 2014, when trained in Britain by Robert Eddery. The filly was bought by current connections for 6,500gns at Tattersalls Sales last July.
