Horse Rules the Land at Roscommon
Dessie Hughes' string continue in top form and Tir Na Gcapall made a very good start to her career to take the I.T.B.A. (Western Region) Mares (Ladies) Flat Race under Pauline Ryan. Got Options a full-sister to Tramp Stamp, looked like she was going to prevail despite having proved very easy to back but Tir Na Gcapall came home best to score by half a length.
The Irish-named winner which translates into English as Land Of The Horse was described by Hughes as "a nice mare that is well-bred." He added: "We'll probably go for another bumper now."
